Mission Statement
The purpose of the SCS Foundation is to promote research and education in the natural sciences, in particular in the fields of chemistry and biochemistry. It supports various Scholarship-, Award- and Mentoring-Programmes. The programmes of the SCS Foundation are financed by donations from companies and private donors. There is no political or religious bias.

Programmes
- The Alfred Werner Excellence Scholarship Programme, supporting outstanding international students pursuing Master’s studies in chemistry, biochemistry and pharmaceutical sciences in Switzerland.
- The Best Presentation Award Programme, presented during the Swiss Chemical Society Fall Meeting, recognising the authors of the most outstanding scientific presentations and posters.
- The SCS Mentoring Programme, designed to prepare young members for their professional careers.
